Nice image. I like the subject, color, and composition, but I am not seeing the shallow DOF.

Is this some kind of amoeba or jellyfish? Looks as if it was hard to capture. Could you crop most of the thing in the lower left out and then burn out the bit of rim that's left? I think the other shape is strong enough to carry the frame.

Though this may have been shot with a wide open aperture, there is no feeling of depth to show off the shallow depth of field.
