 In French, pomegranate and grenade are exact synonyms (both are called grenade), as in many other languages (Spanish, Russian, Hebrew, to name a few). Not really surprising given how similar they look.

four people out of six commented that they liked selective desaturation here :)
sorry guys, this is NOT selective desaturation! don't like it, (almost) never use it. This is just a white plaster replica of a hand with a real pomegranate and some dry ice. lighted by an LED flashlight.

No Michelle, it was just some out of blue Friday night "experiment" at my friend's house - he happened to have some dry ice and we started to look around to see what can we compose with it. Found a pomegranate, and a plaster hand :). I thought it could work as a dark-humored postcard for Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year): Pomegranate is one of symbolic foods for it along with apples and honey.

Cool processing with the desaturation but leaving the fruit red. I like the slow shutter effect with the smoke/fog. Lighting is outstanding combined with the smoke effect. Great picture.

This is the first selective colour-photo ever that I actually went 'wow' on! Good job, because I thought I hated it (selective colour, not you photo). But not this one, that's a 9 there!

Beautiful lighting and detail, and the disembodied hand works well too. Just not wild about the total desat in the hand.
