I didn't realize this was a misquote, or where it had even come from, until I started reading through some of the misquote sites. The actual quote from the movie "Field of Dreams" was "If you build it, he will come".

The misquote has always conjured up for me a mental picture of a booming voice from above and a quasi-religious structure that the booming voice was saying to build. This image fits that mental picture I had of the quote.

In reality, this is one of the art deco styled buildings at Fair Park in Dallas. I'm actually surprised at how well this worked, as the building faces to the west, meaning it was backlit at about 8:45 in the morning. Somehow, the shape of the building and the gold colored inlays worked for it, enhancing the art deco appearance. This ended up looking to me like an illustration from a 1930's travel poster.

Anticipated critiques:
-Some may not see a clear connection between the misquote and the image.
-May get some critiques of being overprocessed.

Post-challenge notes:
I can see from the votes that it was not to everyone's taste, but I expected that for a shot with such a visual appearance. I'm quite happy with where it placed.

This is overprocessed and [scrolling up again] I don't see a clear connection between [what was it?] the misquote and -- oh, forget it.

It's a beautiful architecture shot, and I love how you framed it. (And I'm a sucker for contrails.) The colors do indeed remind me of an old travel poster. Really strong graphic image.

Nice composition, strong lines. The glow at the front of the column is particularly good. I'd like the sky to be a bit more dramatic.

Very good sense of perspective here.
Not too sure about the misquote here (I just haven't heard of it) but there's another of the same title here so I guess I'm just not in the know here.
I'm not sure how the picture relates to the shot here. I get that it's built and that they're gonna come... I dunno. Maybe I need to know the background of this. Might revisit scoring after doing a bit of research... 7 still.

Stunning architecture image. It would be unfair to vote as I do know whom it belongs to. I love the depth the plane trail gives this image. Superb Grog.

I had to look this one up. You're right. If you build it, HE will come. I like this. The vapor trail really adds to it!
