 Taken in the yard, at 9 am. The only purple in my yard. Cropped to exclude extraneous background objects. Applied only Auto contrast and Auto levels using PS Elements 2.

This is a good idea .I think it would help if you didn't crop so close - it's hard to concentrate on the image without a single point of focus.

The color is very washed out due to harsh lighting and overexposure. I see some purple in the buds but I get more of a sense of blue from the flowers.

Oversharpened and background overexposed.
