 I was happy to capture this photo. In the 30 some years I've had fish ponds this is only the second blue dragonfly I've seen. They may be common elsewhere but I only see the red ones around here. He posed very patiently for me, too. I would have liked to have gotten the eyes sharper but there was quite a stiff breeze and I was working without a tripod so this is as good as I could do under the circumstances.

Great looking macro Dale - lots of detail and love that blue! I've never been able to get this close to a dragonfly so congrats on a nice shot!

really good detail in the wings...not an easy shot to get as these buggers tend to move around alot!!

Lighting a bit hars but well captured. Placing in frame maybe not to good and would prefer different crop
