Challenge: Deep DOF II (Basic Editing)
Camera: Panasonic DMC-FZ30
Location: outside in our garden
Date: Sep 22, 2009
Aperture: F4,5
ISO: 80
Shutter: 1/125
Galleries: Nature, Black and White
Date Uploaded: Sep 22, 2009

I used Dads Panasonic for this one. I took about 50 pictures outside at different locations and had to choose hard between 4 one I really liked. :) My mum said I should take this one, but I wasn't quite sure. I wanted something with animals, you know, like "bee on a flower". But after I submitted I began to like it.

I wanted to come back to this picture to say It is a nice picture that was beat up by me and others because it didn't meet the challenge. You have learned something that some amateue photogs never learn. Try again.

This is short DOF.

gave a 2 had the b/g been more in focus i would have scored up to a 5 looks too shallow so imo its borderline DNMC

does not meet challenge, the background is blurred
09/25/2009 11:59:46 PM
Macro / close-up images inherently have shallow depth of field and don't meet challenge imo, although I do like this composition.

This is shallow DOF...DNMC

I get the title, and the pun but I would have preferred to see a deep DOF. Sorry!

I'm sorry, you've probably already heard this, but some people might be afraid to comment, and you might be wondering... Deep depth of field means that objects close in the frame and far away are both in focus. I'm sorry, it just doesn't meet the challenge. (not voting yet)

Deep DOF means most of the image is in focus, this is shallow DOF so doesn't fit the theme.

nice details, but not deep DOF
09/23/2009 10:56:43 AM
This is an example of shallow DOF, not deep.
09/23/2009 09:19:10 AM
Sorry, but this photo is not that good and do not even use deep DOF.
09/23/2009 04:39:43 AM
Excellent still life/macro with selective focus and narrow DOF.
09/23/2009 02:34:15 AM
Shallow DOF.....

amusing title but the complete opposite of deep dof eh

This is a very shallow DoF.
