Only problem I had was the point of focus.
The Fire is too far behind and the Water is too close.
Eyes are drawn to the water, yetis contrasting to the reflection/surface, not the fire.
Great concept, but needs refining in my opinion.

candle is too soft

I like the position here in your composition of the candle up and off-center. The DOF and focus on the water lends itself to your title and interpretation of the challenge well. I might have liked to see more of a diagonal, but I recognize the limitations of the compostion based on all light eminating from the candle.

To blurry

cool!

This would have worked better with a lot more depth of field. The candle being out of focus makes it feel like background, and not really part of the picture, which spoils your effect.

Looks like the candle is way overexposed.

I don't particularly care for the candle being out of focus and only a small point of the foreground being in focus. The cropping seems too wide for this particular photo. The interesting elements are arranged front to back and having such a wide field of view leaves a lot of uninteresting area on the left hand side. I like the candle reflections in the water drops.

Interesting take on this photo. Must be using a very low aperature huh? Neat effect...

Nice water rops and interesting surface, but the candle light is a little disappointing, maybe more focus on it or something.

Good idea, I like the DOF idea. I would like to see what this picture would look like if the DOF was a little deeper, with little more detail on the candle.

better if you crop the out of focus foreground - but I liked the set-up

I agree that fire and water are two different elements, but I don't know if they are opposites. Good composition and lighting.

Nice warm glow. I would like to see a little longer exposure for the ambient light to fill in a little of the darkness. 5

unoriginal idea, badly shot....

I wish that the candle was in better focus with this shot.

The front of this shot is pretty good, the water droplets, the shine on the surface and then you see the candle, out of focus and glaring out at me. The negaive space on the left doesn't add anything to the shot for me personally. A 2

Nice try, similar to many others in the challenge, but not as well finished.
