 I took this shot to stop the boredom of writing a 2500 word essay on Dante's Purgatorio from eating my soul.

I made the swirl-diffuser out of a cherios box, some white paper and gaffer tape - strapped to my sb-600. I shot this with a remote in one hand and the flash in the other - and a black towel as a backdrop.

pp - crop, spot editing (I have really bad skin today!), Black and white high contrast red filter, resize, sharpen, sfw.

Gorgeous model - he has some lips on him! Love his nose too.

I like the composition, lighting - everything, apart from the slight graininess on the glasses.

Interesting concept but it works well. Nice subtle lighting that gives it good depth. Upgraded from a 5 (what was I thinking!!) to a 7 on second pass and after looking at it closer.
