 Did several sessions trying to come up with something cool for this challenge. I do so enjoy challenges like this. This was from the last round. What you see here are two tennis balls hanging from wire in our studio that had been dipped in lighter fluid and then lit on fire. The flames in this image just dont seem nearly as big as the flames that were by my head when shooting. I cant remember if it was Aimee or Rowan who fired the shutter for me. Though I do know that if I decide to take a picture while holding lit pieces of charcoal in my hand Rowan is not the one to work the shutter ("when I say go you hit the button Rowan ok? Go!" and then Rowan replies with "one, two, three, four..." - the marks have gone away already).

Not sure how this will do. Its a very recognizable picture of me so I have to assume the "anti-Friend" voters will be enjoying my image and making sure that they do the bes that they can to "balance" out any percieved advantage I may have. See my biography for a brilliant quote by valdo.

Light setup includes one 430ex off silver umbrella camera right and a 430ex through a straw snoot camera left and behind me.

Editing - Raw conversion - cloned out wires, cloned out lines on tennis balls and softened them into the flames, Super Fun Happy action (layers of curves, color desat, and blur stuff), shadow/highlight, Neat image, high pass, other minor cloning and healing, decent amount of dodge and burn, resize, USM, more of the above stuff, border.

One of my few outtakes - It was just too stinkin cold out and my flashes started failing on me before I could get the process down proper.

a little over processed for my taste ..but still one of my picks for top 5 (I mean fronm 2nd to 5th since there is obviusly a winner)....not voting in this one but I would have voted this an 8.

Terrific shot tim. I had the same idea, but due to it being the rainy season in Vancouver, I could not shoot it. Seems my wife didn't want me to play with fire indoors. 9 from me.
