I like spongebob in the window, the processing fits well with the image, I am not sure why.

Brian, am coming from this thread. Yup, its a decent candid but don't be put off by those that appear worried by it, as you said, it sparked some interesting comments and thats always good (if you want to provoke emotive thoughts from an image). If I were you I'd be quite chuffed that what is really a snapshot has created these feelings.

Moi? I'm thinking she is the mother and knows that another drink for the child will mean a search for a toilet ;)

Am late in commenting so I am not reading any others so forgive me if I repeat their comments:

This shot kinda creeps me out ... maybe because I am a mom and a grandma... she is looking at the little child like she/he is a bug under a microscope.. or maybe it is just the way you processed it.. (I am being kind to the mom here ok) the more I look at it the more weirded out I get.. sorry bvy.. that's it for me.

This is an intriguing picture. The more I look the more I wonder. Maybe they have a huge day of shopping ahead and if she gives him a drink now it wont last. Or maybe she was just standing there about to have a drink when out of the blue an unfamiliar child appeared , wanting to share, and she doesn't know what to do about it.

I wondered about that too. I do some mild vignetting on these shots, and was hoping it was nothing I introduced. In looking at the original, it's not. It's beacuse I was shooting toward the sunlight.

I'm thrilled folks are finding different ways to interpret this. Makes me think I've captured something interesting.

Nice angle. When I first looked at this my thought was that she was the childs mother. Maybe she isn't from the body language. The blanched out area on the wall next to her arm is distracting.

expanding on melathias comment, shes shielding her drink from the child.

There's something about her look that almost bothers me. As though the presence of the child bothers her in some way.

Pretty cool that we get the child's perspective in this one...

I love the funky angles you achieve. This is another good example of a moment most of us miss as we walk by. Look forward to seeing the rest of your images again this month.
