I wish this were sharp. Ugh. Guess, I'll have to do it again, but I bet I won't get this shot. She walked straight up to me and visited for awhile. Took this through the fence. I am on a quest for my first ultimately sharp picture. Framing it when it happens. Making an appointment with the eye doctor in the meantime.

Used Goodman's overlay lightly.

Don't worry - consistently accurate manual focus takes a lot of practice. If you are sufficiently motivated to consider it a "quest", you'll get there soon enough. You could use a different focusing screen on your 40d that could make things a bit easier to see precise focus, if you want. That being said, sharp, sharp focus is frankly overrated and sometimes a bit unreal, given certain subjects. As redjulep says, we are in the world of overlay here! :)

I really get the sense that she was walking straight toward you in this shot. Love the way those horns just fill the entire upper frame.

Composition is great. In overlay world - who cares if it's sharp! :o) Love this.

Being a UT fan, I have to love this. We see longhorns all of the time and I think they are so interesting. The layer is subtle and really adds to it. Nicely done.
