 This was my first time photographing a horse race. It created its own set of challenges. I didn't have a great vantage point since the backdrop was the horse stables. I was at eye level so I couldn't naturally crop out the stables. Secondly, the day was very overcast so I chose to use the cloud white balance setting. I have done minimal editing in Lightroom, primarily bringing out the shadows since the overcast day washed out the image. I also pulled out some of the colors; magenta, red and brown. I thought it was very funny that the horse had its tongue hanging out. The race was going so fast that I didn't notice the tongue until reviewing the photo.

Great stop action shot, the tongue hanging out of the horse's mouth makes this image for me.

Must be the angle but I think number 4 won, maybe if he stuck it straight forward...lol

Lol - great action shot. Makes me miss my hometown of Saratoga Spings, NY and thorobred racing. Great, vibrant colors and I love the flying dirt! 10
