Nice portrait.

Hmmm - good "candid" shot! Oh, wait - we're on "childhood" aren't we?? Only kidding ! ;) I think the photo is terrific, but it does not convey "childhood" to me at all. Maybe the concept is a mother's smile, but I can tell you this - MY mother never looked like that in a bathing suit. lhall

Nice smiling woman. If this was a smiling woman in a bathing suit challenge, you'd win! 7 Swash

The title is the only thing I can get out of this photo that really has to do with childhood, unless you were tying to portray the fact that we never really lose our childhood. I do consider it to "meet the challenge" because there are a lot of possibilities for personal experiences in this challenge. Childhood doesnt smack me in the face here, but that doesn't mean it doesn't for you. So setting all that aside, this is a really great photo. The angle is very nice and the lighting is great. The color of the pool makes for a really great background. The object (person?) in the upper left is unfortunate, but doesn't take away from her smile at all. great shot and good luck in the challenge.

It's never too late to have a happy childhood, and this photo is proof of that.

I'm sorry but I'm missing the relevance to the challenge here. 1 Jak

Ummm, what does this have to do with children?
08/28/2002 07:38:00 AM
Sorry, this picture although attractive does not satisfy the theme.
08/27/2002 07:22:00 PM
doesnt really capture childhood for me.
08/27/2002 07:18:00 PM
I don't get it?

She does not seem to invite one (a child) to join in the water. Is she laughing at you? Are you afraid of the water? This picture only induces these questions due to the heading 'childhood', other than that I would not have seen more than a broadly smiling nice lady. Good picture by the way.
08/27/2002 02:25:00 PM
Somehow this does not say "childhood" to me.

I'm not sure how to interpret this photo... It's not a child in the photo... maybe it's an adult representing a childhood theme of swimming? - jmsetzler

??????????
08/27/2002 07:24:00 AM
A nice smile, but has nothing to do with the subject.

This seems like the exact type of photos of children we'd have gotten had children been allowed. I think in that way it's not really in the spirit of the challenge. Without the title, you see joy maybe, but not childhood. Her arm seems in focus, where I'd prefer it to be her face. Her tan against the water is nice. 3, just-married

A nice enough shot... but surely a stretch for the challenge... sorry...
08/26/2002 05:59:00 PM
beautiful smile..beautiful teeth..sorry but I don't think it meets the challenge.
08/26/2002 03:03:00 PM
Although I think I understand - that your memories or ideas of childhood are of faces smiling at you - for me smiling faces are not something which really say childhood to me, because they are equally a part of my adulthood. Of course, that's all about personal perspective and experience and personal interpretation.
Nice angle and composition and good colour to the water. Shame about dark object to top left.

uhh did you read the rules?

This is a pleasant image. I thought though it was pretty easy to understand that children were not supposed to be featured in the image. Anyway, 5 Journey

A great smile but not a strong representation of the challenge topic. Cropping out the object at the top of her head would remove that distraction and improve the shot IMO.

Smiling is something started at childhood. Good job. 7.
