my god, what i'll do for this site!

convert from raw, photo filter, hue/sat, bright/contrast. that's it. i was sorely tempted to slim the tummy a bit, but didn't. i think that showed remarkable restraint...

here's a shot of the original - terry jones and his organ...

post challenge

holy cow! what a lot of amazing comments. thank you very much to everyone for the support (seeing as i took my usual suport off for this pic ;-p). it's gratifying seeing how much everyone appreciated a not-perfecr body, but my vanity still makes me wish this wasn't going to be on my front page for the next forever!

So insanely happy. LOVE it. I bow to your courage and joie de vivre.

Would have missed this except for Roz's comment popping this into the recently commented page. Are you relieved that you have enough high scoring images to bump this off your front page? (Actually, "proud" would be justified). Happily for your vainity, "for the next forever" was not an accurate prediction.

I have thumbnails for nudes turned off because I do browsing at school, so this is the first time I've seen this. It definitely has the Python feel to it, but I'm surprised nobody pointed out you're playing the wrong chord.

p.s. just kidding about the chord ;-Þ

I was sure I commented on this one at the time, but it appears not. Having looked theough the comments you have already received, I can think of nothing that I can add - just to let you know how much I enjoyed this photo first time round, and really glad the MAK has brought it to may attention again.

Crazy photo. More guts than I would ever have! Terrific idea and worthy of such a high placement. Great exposure and expression. Differnt than most "nudes" or "portraits" you see. Terrific picture.

Well I guess I would just echo most everything that everyone else has added here comment wise. Courageous image and it should have scored higher. Terry Jones would be proud!

Christian,

I just came back to this by a roundabout route, and I wanted to say I love it even more now than I did when I first saw it. I echo what everyone's saying: what bravery! What joi de vivre! I think it should have finished in the top 10 for sure, but that really doesn't matter, does it?

Just a belated "well done!" to you :-)

Ohmygosh, you absolutely are my new favorite person in the whole world! I didn't get to finish voting on all the photos in this challenge, so I missed this but I too would have added another 10 to your votes! Darn! Looks like I'm not the only one either. If all of us who are blown away by this "better than the best" photo would have voted, you may very well have won a ribbon with this :)

Congratulations on endearing yourself and gaining the respect and admiration of the masses :) You TRULY TOTALLY rock!!!!!

I'm sorry but if I had voted in this challenge I would have given this a 10. It captures the spirit of Monte Python perfectly. Terry Gilliam would love this.

Absolutley hilarious!!! I loved this during the challenge and aparently a lot people are loving it after the challenge. Did you notice your "views after voting" compared with the photos that finished around it! Of course your views during voting are unlike anything I've ever seen before too! Wonderful idea and very well done.

This so totally rocks. I LOVE this shot. Loved it in the challenge, and love it even more knowing it's yours. I grew up with Monty Python's Flying Circus (my whole family is kinda warped) so this really resonates with me. Add to that the sheer slightly insane joy it portrays and it's a marvelous shot. By the way, the stuff behind the head? Kinda fits with the whole Python thing, really. And I'm quite in awe of such a clear shot of a human at 1/8th sec. Sorry if you hate seeing it on your top row, but there are a whole lot of us who quite like it! Check out the comments!

I love this shot. There is such exuberance and delight in the expression, the pose and the set up. I love the sense of freedom shown in the "frumpy" nude body, which shows skin, but not sexuality per say. The stuff near her head and back, plus the lighting above her head are a problem, yet I still love the shot. 9
