This was from a paying photo shoot, and yes I got the model release.

I used two lights one high on her face, one lower on her back; 2:1 lighting.

Very nicely composed, but I have to agree that the shoes distract, especially what they do to her backside. I would also dispense with the thong and spread the knees to balance the bottom of the image better.

It appears that there are some prudes voting based on the ratings of the nudes in this set!

although I am sure she has a firm body

You got hosed in the voting. Way under-rated!

I would have tried this with the legs opened apart to equilibrate the pose and to emphasize on the hips curves.

Wow, this is beautiful! The lighting is great, her skin looks really soft. I love her face. What distracts me are those reflections from the shoes on her backside. Why isn't she barefoot? If she'd kicked off her shoes the shot would have a more intimate atmosphere. Anyway: well done! 9

The heels of her shoes at first looked like she had piercings in her behind... lol. Perhaps barefeet would have been better, and 'softer'! Good shot though.

This is a great photo untill you get to the shoes. I really like it but believe I'd vote it higher with a tighter crop.7

Beautiful image. Great model. I like the pose. I like the lighting overall, but it does seem to be a little blown on the hands. Overall, a very nice shot though. Works well soft, IMO.

a very pretty girl, but dress sense is erring a bit on the glamour-esque / page 3 sort of thing. the heels and knickers kind of limits the level of elegant subtlety a little bit; but that's just preference. it's really a picture of two halves; i tried cropping her from just below her hair and upwards, and really, i felt it would make (composition wise) a bloody gorgeous prtrait. true, you'd lose the tatoo which is a nice touch of personality, but her face ,skin, arms and hair is really brought out by the sepia and the black background, and her pose really suits the rule of thirds you've followed more... the softness is well achieved; it's there but not overly done to be obvious. 7.

Beautiful model; this would probably look better without the shoes.

this shot is too blurry...could be sharper...Just Kidding!!

Perhaps a bit more lighting near her shoes so I can fully make those out. 7

I am not fond of this type of photography (personal preference) so will try my best to comment here. I think the softness on the 'models' face and hair is nice but for me, from the waist down in the image is a let down. Because the rest of the shot is so simple, in this little area with the shoes, thong (G-String?) and tatto there is too much going on IMHO. I like the processing and the slightly off centre position of the 'model' in the frame.

More soft focus would have made this image,...7

Nice lighting and focus. She's quite lovely. Those clunky shoes look awkward and out of place. You could completely crop them out and I think the image would stand on its own just fine.

Awesome. I think the BW nudes suit soft focus the best. My hats off to you for courage.
