I'm a little surprised at how poorly this scored too. I disagree that unique images score badly in gerenal though - I have some good scores with some whacked out stuff.

i like the concept of this, and the execution is good as well. sharp details and excellent lighting. Macabre doesn't always sit well with the masses, but 16 comments and a favourite indicate you touched a few people with it.

***Greetings From the Critique club***
First off i must say thank you for entering the challenge its what makes dpc what it is today

to start, i must say i like your photograph, it puts a turn on the norm around here.

you composition is good, the rule of thirds was used, your backgroud coencides with the picture. i really like how the doll is dark and scary and the background is a light normal setting really adds to the photo.
its well focused and shows great texture and detail, perfect dof, you can tell what it is in the backgroudn but it take you a second, i really have nothing to say bad abot the photo, to me it perfect, it should have scored higher, people dont put into thought the time and effort you put into this photo.

Great job.

This was one of my top-scorers. Personally I LIKE the choice of background, I think because it makes it scarier to think of it actually IN some child's nursery/playroom.
Then again, I'm known for going to thriftshops looking for dolls I can mutilate.... working on using a head for a Halloween fountain with blood coming out of the orifices...)

The actual subject is done quite well good lighting (hair a bit blurred on side of face) I think a black background would have given image a far darker feel though. too much beige (considered a warm color)

I don't think Hollywood itself, could of come up with a creepier and scarier image than this. Great execution on your part and a great photo!

The dirt in her mouth creeps me out. It is technically good, but it scares me. 7.

Bride of Chuckie, this is technically a good image but subject matter is hard to digest after so many "adorable" Thomas the Trains, but you should get extra credit for thinking outside the toybox.

Crikey!
Gotta say, it fits the challenge and is technically
well executed. I shall give you a seven for this.
Reminds me of the old Chucky movies.

WB seems to be a tad off but it's not a biggie.
