This is a muslin screen for a background. You can see the texture. left it to look like cheese cloth. A red bulb aimed down and a yellow above. There is no postprocessing here. The fog machine was used to up the atmosphere. The mountains are cut cardboard loosely placed behind the screen.

The cheese is yellow chedar cut and placed on a pizza platter (upside down) and then a coating of wax paper which was used to store the cheese which I ate the next morning, though I must confessed I ate a couple of pillars before putting it away. I figured that wax over metal would create an interesting uneven texture for the ground. I cut the cheese all in one minute and then found which end would stand and the rest was easy.

The image was inspired by EddyG "Moonrise over Stonehenge.

Quick! Someone call the FBI or CIA because you got robbed! This is easily better than 1st and 3rd ribbons and a notch or two better than 2nd for the much better idea and great execution. This shouldn't receive less than a 5 in voting...Those 37 people are clueless!

Dan -- how on earth do you consistently come up with these ideas. Anyone who believes "thinking out of the box" isn't rewarded on this site need to spend some time looking over your portfolio.
Congratulations!

Really good take on the challenge and nicely photographed as well. Normally, I'd worry about the half & half composition, but this time, it works for me!
