My first attempt at a triptych. Generally I'm not that keen on them but the point of DP Challenge is to challenge so I had a go. Haven't entered anything for a while because I've been so busy traveling but had a chance to borrow a 70-200 VR lens yesterday so headed to the lake (Lake Michigan) where it was very windy. My aim was to have the color gradually draining in each of the three shots and played with selective desat to achieve this. It is perhaps too subtle but that was the intention.

Certainly a different way to think about a subject. Fun!

Great seascape! I'm not sure about the selective desat. I'd like to see it in full color or B&W.

I think this entry would have been stronger on a black background. The photo already has a lot of light grays and whites, and a black background/edges would have created more contrast I think. Great photo though!

How does the division of your picture into three frames enhance the photo? How does this "tell...a story or illustrates a concept or object" better than the original image?

Great use of selective desat. The method seems to work wonderfully in triptych. A normally don't like ellaborate frames, but consider a thin (like 1 px) black frame around the white of the ikages. It is missing something to really make the images pop from the frame. Lovely scene, with great composition.

Good subject for a triptych. I think it would have been better with a black frame. Individually, these are very strong shots, and the white frame pulls the eye away from them.
