In line with the other comments, try cropping just below the logo on the ball-return -- I think it makes a much stronger image.

Jeff, I gave this one an 8. Basically, I agree with Heather. The balls are great, but the background just kills it for me, too. How about a steeper angle down of just the balls and rack (maybe a bit of lane, but definately not that horrible neon end of lanes area). Strong color and focus (except for the leading balls).

Hi again. I'm assuming you want honesty, so I'm gonna give you just that. Only cause I know ya though.
I like the shot. But I don't find it emensely thrilling. I think it's the background and the reflection of the background on the lanes that really kind of crushes it for me.
The focus and clarity of the balls is really good, but I do think I would prefer if the front most balls were in focus with the rest of the balls.
The angle and framing/cropping is really good. I love the angle expecially. Really draws you into the photo, but then it stops like a car hitting a brick wall. Draws us in, but for what? A cluttered, busy background.
The color of the balls is great. Definately Complimentary, definately strong. They stand out nicely even with the amount of color in the background. i think that the lighting on the balls is good as well, however I dont' like all the glare on the floor and lanes.
Like I said, I do like the shot, the balls are excellent. Just needs some different background in my opinion.
You can hate me now. :(

Great depth of field on this photo -- really emphasizes the linear perspective of the bowling alley.

Nice set up with the alternating colored balls.

Ha! Good, very good. Alternating the colours works well, it's an unexpected setting, and the surrounding scene and background support it without drawing the eye away from things.

This would be a great bowling stock photo, or an add for Brunswick. I appreciate the fact that you too the time to line up the words. Your composition really draws the viewer into the picture. Could the focus have been a touch sharper on the ones in the front?

Ha. Very clever. The colors in the background distract from the colors and shapes in the foreground. A slightly different angle may have helped that but it is still very interesting. -T

This is such a cool shot! Really like the feeling of being among those bowling balls and at the same time i see the whole bowling alley. The shot is lively but not at all 'busy. Nice colors, nice warm tone over the image (wooden floor for example)10

I personally really love this shot. I can't believe you found that many balls of the same color there! 10.

You must work at the bowling alley. Nice care taken to get your shot preped. The composition of the balls going straight down the middle isn't working for me in landscape mode. Did you try a portrait crop so as to minimize the surrounding lanes? Your focus and lighting seem good. 7 -danny
