I snapped this candidly as I was walking to work prior to the start of the Iraq conflict.

What really caught me was the mood and the visual connundrums presented in this image. To me, the paper and composition suggests uncertainty but the subject suggests a measure of relaxation.

CC for mbardeen Hello.

Fits The Challenge-Yes.
Composition- Perfectly window framing around the woman.
Background- Good color on the wall/bricks
My Opinion- Good but suffered in the voting from the soft focus on the woman. [which is noted below in the comments] I'm guessing it was hand held...so just a bit of shake. Hard to prevent that. Still you have captured the feeling/mood here very well. I love the rich yellow of the bricks. You have a good eye for a good find and emotion is felt by the viewer.

I really like the framing and the inner framing. the position of the woman, what she is reading, .the negative space of the yellow wall. Unfortunatley either this lacks focus, or the compression gave artifacts. If this could be cleaned up it would score much higher from me because it is interesting to view.

Good subject. I think moving in would have been better - too much wall. Sharper focus would have improved .

cute, nice and quite, don't bug her.

doesn't stir a lot of emotion and is a little soft on the focus.

interesting composition and lighting on this photo... the sharpness seems to be a little soft... i think some extra sharpness would improve the impact here.. - setzler

It is a good idea, but the woman looks out of focus to me and the shot is somehow spoiled.

Yes, she does seem puzzled. Its great that you were able to catch the headline so well: without it, the picture would have lost its significance.

Nice composition with the window framing the woman. Good job getting the headlines in focus.

I like the compostion, but it would be much better with a little more focus.
