Converted to b/w using the channel mixer, with blues low and reds high greens were a bit low, too as I recall. Just a tad of dodging and burning in the lower clouds. Otherwise, the channel mixer did its magic.

very nice - definately some drama to it. good tones too.
the negative space does underplay the size of the mountains i would guess.

I like it, but I wonder about two things.
(1) There are three layers here, the snow, the mountains, the sky. I'm wondering if the picture might be more "powerful" if there were only mountains and sky. I'm just curious about that.
(2) Even though the mountains are absolutely beautiful here, I find it a bit distracting that those to the right hand side of the picture (except far right) are in shadow, whereas those to the left are in light. I don't know, maybe the picture would be too "bland" if all were in light, but I'm just wondering about that.

Please don't get offended, it's a beautiful shot. It's just that those were the thoughts that came to mind in looking at it.

Very nice B/W counterpoint to 'April'. Added to favourites.

"...Otherwise, the channel mixer did its magic."

Magic it is, too, I would agree. Really special photo, very dramatic, great work.

I like this treatment a lot. The negative space doesn't detract, IMHO. I've not seen one like it that I recall, and it's just been added to my favorites. Very cool.
