 I am so excited for Week 1 of the DPL Season 5 2023 Edition!! Let’s Go Team FlashBacks!!

I have some of the cutest images of this cutie swinging away on this swing and many facing the camera; but I really wanted the impact of the tree to be the focus and her hair to grab attention without her being the subject.

Thank you all for the nice comments! While I totally agree that this looks phenomenal in black and white (for me due to chromatic aberration) but I specifically sought out a red haired model to go with all the green - it is a favorite combo and my vision for this challenge. I wish there was interest in the sky and that I could have photographed at a different time of day - but alas, I had to take the time they could give me to shoot this.

This is a wonderful image, 10 from me. It is so reflective of the past with the tire swing and you found a ginger, which makes it more retro.

absolutely gorgeous ..
a perfect image for the challenge ..
i hear what ppl say about the sky .. but in some ways it works .. there are no amazing clouds to distract from the story of the girl and the tree ..
it looks a bit like a dull day .. but there is the child on the swing .. taking me back to times i lost myself in those moments ..
a dull day becomes magic .. which is a message in itself ..
i'm loving the foreground too with the grass and suggestion of flowers ..
this is a wonderful and precious image ..
congratulations on the blue ..
btw . when i saw this with the blue i fully expected to see a score of mid 7's .. and with pride of place on your profile page .. :)

This is just perfect...the ancient tree and the little red-haired girl sharing a time-honored childhood experience.. A well deserved blue ribbon for a wonderful image.

Judging by your comments it was a real bonus to add the red headed child, she really did make this image extra special. Takes you back to a time when children often played outside. They were indeed the good old days. Congratulations on the first DPL win. Probably be of many.

Ahhh, a tire swing - one of a trees great gifts to children.
Because of the white sky, I'd be tempted to see what this looked like in black and white with maybe a slight contrast boost. And though this might seem odd for a challenge in which the tree is supposed to star, I would also look at cropping some off the right. I do enjoy this, though, and it's a 7 from me.
