For those who are wondering, this is a real sign at the pedestrian crosswalk of Sparks St. (pedestrian mall) and Metcalfe St. in downtown Ottawa. The business association for Sparks St. wanted to bring a little fun to the area, and it seemed fitting with the view of Parliament in the background.

After trying in vain to find a Dead End sign in my area (plenty of No Exit) for an idea I had, I googled funny signs in Ottawa and hit on this one. It took me days to find a bowler hat before I could treat a few early risers to a ridiculous view of me taking some pretty awesome selfies (if I do say so myself).

For the details. Natural light, in the shade of the buildings. It was sunny out, which is why the Parliament building is much brighter. I shot this using a remote, if you look carefully, it's between my thumb and forefinger. I tried to use the 2 second delay so I could hide it, but just couldn't nail the timing. Since there was no way I could hold my leg out there any more than a fraction of a second, I just tried to make the timer as inconspicuous as possible.

Processing
- Topaz Black and White Effects (silver paper tone enabled)
- Curves to lighten the dark of the suit.
- Mask and darken the parliament building.

Hysterical image and funny even to those who might not know Monty Python, I think - the impossible pose and the sign it mimics are not to be missed and appreciated. Very well done and congratulations on a well-deserved Blue.

Perfect for the challenge, great find. And thanks for your explanation, I already was wondering how you could have changed that sign within the Advanced ruleset LOL. Congrats on the Blue!

This is soooo funy - I really hope people stop long enough to fully appreciate it. And how long did he hold that pose? Too bad you couldn't get just a little shallower dof - that's a very busy background.

I really like the image as it's got the wow factor but the processing isn't doing it justice although I'm sure you aimed for the 70s feel I believe a different edit would elevate the shot further.
