Thank you all for the marvelous comments. Now I see clearly things that I did not before, when I just clicked the camera keeping an eye on the subject.

Have to add Don's comment made to my blog to have a complete DPC note book:

posthumous
"There is so much I could say about all the individual photos. Subtle, unpretentious, buy still saying so much. I think your compositional decisions, like the wood sculpture so close to the right edge of the frame, were perfect. Just great individual photos and a great essay together."

Now I'll let the MEN be for a while.

You get us.

We are comfortable nowadays, after years of ewomancipation, to let a glimmer of emotion shine through.

We'll still give you the manly frown, but use a pink camera while doing it.
We'll be listening to hard rock, but take an image of a soft haze at the same time.
We'll slouch hand-in-pockets, while scrutinizing an image for meaning.
And so on.

Nonchalantly letting our slip show, for only the most acute observer, who also had her camera ready, and on the exact correct settings. Easy peasy.

Wonderful heading, introduction and ending. If I may only take one, it will still be a toss-up between 6&7, with 1 as the fall-back.

Ah men, we really are one dimension at a time, and who better to study us than one with your keen talented eye. An astute collections of body, mind and personality types engaged in your particular petri dish world. Always a delight, particularly #7 and its' subtle precursor #6. Highlights the singular experience men have with art forms (as far as I am concerned, at least), men don't seem to physically share a state of ponderance as women seem to do (or maybe I'm just being a male? ).

Great collection, Mariuca. I particularly appreciate the appreciations of other people appreciating art. You have a great knack of juxtaposition and framing, too.

Really trying not to repeat insteps comments, but he is right when he said the possibilities with this subject are endless. You have captured some wonderful images

The second image of the man in the fedora hat is my favorite of the group. He reminds me of a Duane Hanson sculpture. I remember the first time my wife saw one of his creations. We were walking through a museum and she wasn't that interested. Confronted by one of his sculptures, thinking it was an actual person, she said "now that's art." That's my feeling about this photograph. Several others are also excellent but this one stays with me.

I'd like to see you narrow your story a little and focus on more than gender. Something about a common interest, posture, age, dress, class, etc. The possibilities are endless.

I've had a quick look and I like it. How could I not? There are a couple of genuinely world-class photographs in there (and none at all that are anything less than excellent), but as ever your real impact is in the accumulation of observational wit and whimsy, on a bed of flat-out artistic accomplishment. But I'm very busy just now ... I'll be back in a day or 2 to leave you a proper comment. Thanks for submitting your invariably interesting stuff!

#7 and #9 are the two world-class photographs I was referring to, although now that I've looked longer I might be damning the remainder with faint praise. They're all so witty and engaging. You seem to be incapable of doing anything dull. If you cook as consistently well as you do this stuff, you'd be the perfect flatmate. Thank you!
