Hey Clara...
Came across this image and I really enjoy viewing it. I gave it an eight in the challenge as it appealed to me as a strong image. You have a super-sharp focusing plane from the people in the foreground to the capitol building in the background. Marvelous.

I feel that one thing that is detracting from the shot is that there is a little too much sky above the capitol. I feel that that can be cropped out to just above the tip of the statue. Another thing that you might think about doing is making the foreground a little bit more contrasty so that it sticks out from the bright sky in the background. Lastly, as for changing the shot, if you cropped out some off of the right to make the capitol as close to the center as possible it would have a strong sense of symmetry.

I really like how I spend some time in the foreground and then slowly travel through the interesting background. It really is a great capture and a wonderful piece. Thanks for sharing it on DPC.

Nice candid people shot. A bit too red for my tastes, however, and the clouds are overexposed.

*almost* enough DOF. But a great shot, nonetheless. (also, maybe too much sky for my taste)

very nice and neat. The foreground subjects give it that casual travel guide look.

Its a fantastic Washington Capitol photo. The folks by the pool really enhance the photo, well done.

This seems like 2 pictures, with the foreground disconnected from the remainder. I think this is partly because the lower 3rd line runs almost exactly along that straight line parapet across your picture and also because the building and sky are so much brighter than the foreground portions. I think if I'd taken this picture I'd have lowered my POV some and tried to take in some more of the grass in the foreground and less of the sky. This would have put the lower 1/3 line as the far bank with the couples heads breaking through it to join the features together. That would also make the top 1/3 dome and sky instead of just sky so there isn't that huge expanse of white.

I think the human element really adds to this photo. Good luck on the challenge!

The balance of this is upset a touch by the figures' closeness to the frame and the space above the monument. I feel that I'm being lead to expect something in the sky there, and I don't find it - not even visual interest in the sky. Good overall idea though, for this challenge. Light is a touch bland - contrast could have been pushed further without harming things?

I really like the cropping and POV on this photo, and having the couple in the foreground really helps sell it for the theme.
I find it a tad dark and perhaps a little flat, but a really nice shot. Good job.

I really like this with the people in it. Something seems off about the sky. 7
