| Surprised there weren't more entries in this challenge. Kept waiting for a last minute surge in submissions but it didn't seem to happen. Not that I'm complaining, might actually vote. |

Starting well, for a shot I hated and was going to pull in the last 5 minutes. Learn something new every day.

Some beautiful animals in this bunch. And um..."things" that some may consider a shoehorn. (While others might not). All in all a great bunch of shots in any event.

like, in DPC sense, or in real life sense
I'll explain both.
A shoehorn was/is hard tongue shaped lever that helped get cowboys (among other people) out of their boots, (and into them), since they fit so tight. It was made out of bone, then metals, then plastic. You can google them online.
A shoehorn on DPC is basically when you try and shove an entry into a challenge that doesn't really fit with some minor or tentative connection. Thus a metaphorical shoehorning of something into a tight space. |

Think of the poor shoe salesman trying to stuff a size 14 foot into a size 6 shoe with that little tool of his (i.e. the shoehorn). Then take that visual and apply it to a photo in a challenge. i.e. Trying to stuff a picture into the challenge. Basically trying to enter a picture where its debatable whether it belongs there or not.

| Just looked at 'em all. I think I like horses. Some fun shoehorns too. And some really really good photos - actually a lot. But liked looking at all of them. |

| I love the visibility for my favorite non-human species, my crappy score notwithstanding. Not the first time I've misunderstood the voting public, though it's rather startling in my specialty area, the sort that has netted me 4 figure commercial sales more than once. A nice sort of wound salve, that. ;-) |
