I'm wondering if anyone has tried the new 300D "UnDutchables" firmware. It's a continuation of Wasia's firmware except the focus mode selection has been moved to the right button, which is easier to reach, and the left button now releases the shutter in AI servo mode. There's also a bunch of useless enhancements for "Basic zone" operations.

To be more honest, I'm looking for a guinea pig ;) Perhaps one of you folks who own a 300D, 20D, and 1D Mk II, and use your 300D as a door jam or a lens cap.

New firmware available here:

The firmware looks to be derived from the Russian hack, which you can read about on DPC here.

I'm not sure what this Dutch version offers over the 'original', so I'll leave it for the moment. Nice to know it's still being worked on, however.

I only heard from ppl that went back to the original Russian hack.
I read it somewhere on a German forum.. Will see if I can find it again.

I worked with the Russian hack and never had complaints about it, worked 100% for me.
