Interesting. The specs are credible. *If* it's true, it's a big step forward from what is already a great camera.

* ISO 12800 (C.F. up to 25600)

What is the C.F. up to 25600??

and the price tag compared with the 5D suits me just fine.

that looks better than the 1ds mk 2 and less money. Slightly less resolution, but full weather sealing? Awesome.

2 digic 3s? Hmm... better than the 1ds mk 2 as well.

Overall this camera sounds awesome but i'm taking any rumours with a pinch of salt until I hear something official. I've been waiting for this camera for ages and have the money ready to rock and roll with it. Good price too. But in the words of Live:

"I'll beleive it.. when I see it... for my selllffffff"

Is there anything anywhere else about this?

Some informations I got (some time ago - Dez 2007) from inside Canon, they told me that the new 5D wouldn't be called MK II cause the word "Mark" is reserved for prof models. I think 5D NR (Never Ready) would be a great choice.

It's just rumour time at ye old mill.
Canon in the past has shipped new bodies, or announced and shipped, the third to fourth week of March, so it's just time for the rumours to start.
Never has a rumour been right. And most stuff is released with no preceding rumour, Chuck Westfall was interviewed at a photo show this past winter and says canon has no plans to replace the 5D at this time...could be a bald face lie, who knows.

April 22 announcement, huh? I won't lose any sleep over it till then. However, if it is announced I suppose I'll need to find $3499 by June 2.

Only up to 3200. Don't have my camera on me, but I'll look later.

While it is just a rumor, I don't see the justification for weather sealing, that's one of the few reasons people are shelling out the big bucks for the high end bodies. Seems like Canon would be eating their own lunch on the high end.

The 40D currently has better weather sealing than the 5D (as in, "some").

'Some' seems a bit of a weird notion. Is it just some of the buttons that leak or ? :)

I'm thinking of probably getting whatever replaces the 5D. Want a lighter body that's full frame. So I'm
interested to see what appears. Then I'll pick it up 6 months later once the focus issues and recalls are
mostly finished and the price has fallen to a sane level.
