For whatever reason, under Windows 8.1, the new install did not remove the 2014 install. I did not select it, I just hit update and let it go. Perhaps it was because it failed on the first try. (My C+ runtime library was evidently damaged, and I had to manually rerun that part of the install to repair it.)

Only downside is that I only have a 256GB hard drive. No way to put a bigger one in. (Sony Vaio Duo. So it is all sealed up.). So I don't let things accumulate.

I just dragged my onOne package right over and it works fine. But I'm using 9.5, not 8.5.. All my Niks and my Topazes are working just fine. I'm still running Win7 Ultimate, for whatever that's worth... Incidentally, the new install removed the *working* part of 2014 but left intact the part that stores plugins and preferences, so they were right there for me to grab and move.

I upgraded today - and what a nightmare. Went to open the first file - and could not open RAW image from Nikon D4's. Got straight on to Adobe help. I had to completely uninstall - and then start all over again. The help person told me that my plugins might not work - and then OnOne definitely would not. After much time spent re_uploading Photoshop CC2015 with the correct Camera Raw, he then said I could go back to CC2014 to get the plugins working again. The help guy was very good and helpful - but I have lost a lot of time today, and was not impressed that there was no warning that plugins, not to mention Camera Raw would not work. I will be less keen to press the "Upgrade" next time.

I worked with the onOne folks and their support was fantastic. Part of this was my own fault, so for the record, dragging the 8.5 Plugins folder over DOES work. What it doesn't do is create the sidebar Extension, and that's where I was used to invoking them. The 8.5 Suite tools are all available in the File > Automate menu, and had been all along, I just never thought to look for them there since I've never invoked them that way.

Topaz denoise and restyle up and running. I had to download restyle from topaz's site - no sweat.

Now where's save for web?

Similarly, I've kept with the older versions of Nik Silver Efex and Color Efex because they work with PSP X4. PSP is up to version X7, but I have no idea if the Nik Suite will work with it or not. (I suppose I could install the 30 day demo of X7 and find out)
