These are all good programs to try:

Panorama Factory
PTgui
PTAssembler

The last two are frontends for the same freeware image tools and are similar. Panorama Factory may be a little bit easier, but all three are powerful.

I believe I used PF to create these vertical pans:

I've heard that PT Assembler is a good tool. You can see more info and download it HERE. Also, HERE are some examples of images that the maker made using this program, he takes beautiful photos. Hope this helps. :o)

The only software I've used for stitching panos is Panorama Factory and I'm quite satisfied with it.

Check out my portfolio for some of my panos. It's too bad DPC has a 640px max width. Anyone interested in seeing larger versions, lmk.

Realviz's Stitcher is pretty damn good. It's the only one that even came close to handling an unusually large panorama I have. I say "close" because it gracelessly died during the render. I would recommend either hugin or ptopengui; hugin is under active development.

Noticed this thread in my list. Have you had any luck?

I can't praise Panorama factory high enough! I pointed to one of my panoramas in another thread, but I notice that it's quite small here. I've done dozens with my G2, sometimes with panorama mode on the camera, and sometimes not, and they all come out beautiful when PF is used.

There's an older free version, but It's a good investment if you like to do panoramas. I tried a bunch of tools, and after using PF for one night, I bought it!
