Uhh... is it true that tomorrow night will END the first round of the BYOA challenge?

Or will it START at rollover tomorrow?

The first round is the Upside Down challenge.

The challenge announced tomorrow night will BEGIN the SECOND round. You need to assume you'll win Rd 1, the "upside down" round, and prepare an entry for whatever challenge is announced tomorrow night, to represent you in rd 2, assuming you get there :-)

I'm still confused. You're saying that it will begin the second round. That means that this is true from the original rules:

"The first round will be based on the challenge announced on Sunday April 22nd and will run on each Sunday until there is a winner. The number of rounds will depend on the number of initial competitors.

Be aware, you won't know whether you are through to the next round until rollover, so you'll need to have an image ready to go without knowing whether you are through or not."

So... when you say I need to assume that I'll win Round One... the "upside down" round... that's really Round Two, right? The first Round was Playing Cards, announced on the 22nd, right?

I am so lost.

The first round is the challenge "Upside Down IV" which has the submission dates listed as:
"I submit that my entry was based on photograph(s) taken with a digital camera on or between Apr. 23rd 2012 and Apr. 29th 2012."

Technically, the 2nd round is announced at 12:01am Monday morning (after rollover).

You always have to assume you're going into the next round and shoot for the next challenge because you won't know if you made it until after the next round challenge entry is due.

No, upside down was announced on the 22nd. That's the first round. You had a week to shoot. The next round will be announced at rollover of cards. Your entry for round one will be in (upside down) and you'll have a week to shoot for round 2 (what ever it is). You have to assume you'll win and have an entry in for it. You won't know until the challenge actually ends whether you won or not.

Not to advocate it but I read somewhere that an interesting study showed mild alcohol use may unlock creativity. So don't get so knackered and go photoshoot something!:-)

How many of you:
1. Plan on posting in the scores thread
2. Not planning on posting in the scores thread so that your challenger is biting nails all week
3. lying in the scores thread to build tension

I usually just shoot random stuff during the week and if one fits I enter it. I also browse the challenges and if something immediately pops in my head I shoot it. I gave up posting in the scores thread ages ago. I'll probably post during the competition though. It worked out well last time that we basically gave each other a heads up whether we needed to shoot for the next round.
