While expert editing is the ruleset, one does not have to feel intimidated. One does not need to use all the techniques allowed in expert ed. Good photography should still score well. And, if it doesn't, so be it.

I didn't realize it was expert. ;D Oh well, another 4.8.

I wish I'd missed that too. Maybe then I'd have come up with something to enter.

mine wasn't expert edited and honestly its one the best images i've ever made. actually maybe it is, its more of combining two exposures of the same scene, but i'm not sure they way i did it would be legal in advanced.

i probably could have even gotten away with basic editing if i had to.

I am at a total loss... not one good idea, not one image captured... Oh well...

Nothing against expert editing, but with this particular challenge, I'm wondering why? (No doubt when I see what gyaban and Judi do with it I'll know.)

i agree i would have much rather seen the Science challenge as expert.

Expert editing is the perfect time to use overlays...it's the only time we can. That's how I look at it anyway.

i thought the expert editing was odd, too.

so i just did my best Advanced plus a little bit more editing.... nothing too fancy (which means it'll probably get crushed, unless the "less is more" mentality holds sway).

I don't think this challenge really calls for 'expert editing', and there have been a few photos who have done well in the past without using it.

I'm in, no expert editing.
