I'm sure many of you have already seen this famous horse photo, but it's such a story about timing is everything :)

Cool back story!
I am left a little confused by the photog's response to the re-posting of his image... instead of asking sites to take it down, he should simply have been asking them to credit him. In fact, if he's not looking to make photography a business, there is no downside for him at all in any of this. If he is, then he should want that image to get re-posted as many times as possible, as long as he is credited. Now, the folks that replaced the logo with their own, that is crappy. Still, a few of those would have no real impact, and all that is required is for him to notify the site and provide the original image to replace the misappropriated one. Only in the case where someone is posting it on their own site and claiming authorship do I see a need to demand a take-down.
