 Beer Can BBQ Chicken

Spice Mix:
1 tsp each of salt, chili peppers, ground coriander, dry mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, 2 tsp cumin.

Rub spice mix into chicken, let marinade until BBQ is ready.

Pour out half the can of beer. Add BBQ sauce to beer can. Stand chicken on can and place all into 8x8" cooking tin (to catch drippings).
Cook on indirect heat for 45-5 minutes, or until done.

Carefully remove the can and pour out the contents. Thicken with cornstarch/flour to make gravy.

Try not to laugh at how silly it looks - the taste is worth it!

I've always wanted to make beer can chicken. Never had it, but this pic makes me want to have some.

The lighting is a tiny bit harsh but it looks good. And might I say..."ouch". Is that butt branded beer?

A little close on the crop but the picture looks good. Your white balance is slightly off by looking at the bar code which is supposed to be white but looks blue. However I don't really mind that because it puts a nice cast of light onto the chicken to make it look more delicious.

I've also heard this called "Beer Butt Chicken (BBC)" Nice colors... I almost see the gansta chicken with the wings pointed as if to say "yo-yo-yo"

A staple in my house. Probably eat them almost weekly. So I am connecting well with your subject from a foodie perspective. From a photography perspective it is a bit lacking. Snapshot feel to it, cropped way too tight. I think you could have been a bit more creative with the image. Would gladly take an invite to come over and dine with you though.
