I think this is the best angle to capture this from, because from this vantage point you can see not only the distance between the rusher and the QB, but also where the ball is going and the front of the quarterback. Background is only slightly distracting, and only because of the backlighting of the trees. As others have said, tighter framing on the rusher/QB duo would improve this as well.

Good timing for peak action. Crop this tighter and you have a winner. I might also play with the levels or blacks to drop that background a bit since its mostly dark anyway.

I like the fact the players are sharp but the ball has some motion blur to it. I also like all the colours, they have come out well, it's a shame you weren't on the other side of the player so you could capture some of their faces. I'd have been tempted to zoom in for an even tighter crop.

Your exif says f/1.7 this time, weird! :)
