Some friends and I decided to participate in an 8K Snowshoe race up at Mt. Hood in Oregon. It was a national qualifying race for nationals in Utah. We'd never been snowshoeing before. The whole thing was a blast. It was a great event with tons of people and a beautiful day to be trekking down a canyon at Mt. Hood. My time probably suffered some because I stopped so much to take pictures! I finished with a time of 1 hour and 14 minutes. Not to shabby, I guess! This image was when we were waiting at the start. I liked the simplicity and detail of the awkwardness of wearing snowshoes.
