Challenge: The Year You Were Born (Basic Editing)
Camera: Nikon D70s
Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED

Shutter: 2 sec

Humg a black sheet in the corner of my living room. Slowly added pieces to the composition until I felt it was full, but balanced. I hung the shampoo from the ceiling with dental floss, and had a really hard time getting it to stop swinging long enough to get the shot. Took about 30 shots setting it up and getting the lighting correct. Ended up adding the speed flash to a 2 sec exposure to get the dof I wanted.

All cool stuff, but simply overwhelming - too busy. You have plenty of subjects from which to choose, choosing a few of them would be better than so many, with the challenge to arrange and display them so that they fit together. By itself, the lower half minus the can would be better.

great concept, but it woud have worked better in my opinion if you had focused maybe on fewer items?

Very nice eclectic mix. Well done and the shoes, socks and jeans continue the idea. Great history lesson, too.

Well Done. I like the composition. The coolest of all was you though right? Well I'm sure that's what your parents thought anyway.

I just have this image in my mind of the setup for this one. :) Great idea, and I really love the white socks/black shoes thing. How many hamburgers did you go through shooting this? My only gripe, (if I'm allowed one) is that you cut off the head in the top picture. (Steve Jobs?)

edit: Ok, it must have been a long night. Note to self: Scroll up and look at the whole picture while commenting. (Feeling really stupid now.) :)

Interesting collection of stuff there. Since I live near the original KFC restaurant, I thought your date was off. Sure enough, KFC was founded in 1952 (no bid deal, but interesting.)

Decent shot, but the result ends up lacking visual interest. 4

Where did you get a bucket of chicken from before they changed it to KFC?

Don't know if I like the items floating in space. Hard to make sense of the composition, but then maybe that wasn't the point. BTW - stewed tomatoes are cool?!
