Odd location - why hammer in the grass? The photo's a bit too centered. Cutting off the bottom grass and adding more of the claw-end of the hammer might have worked better compositionally. It's pretty obvious that no thumbs were harmed in the making of this photo - which gives it a kind of a stiff feel. Focal point is well done. Basically an OK shot that meets the challenge, but doesn't really stand out.

... another 10 come along at once! Nice angle but lacks a feeling of the actual 'accident'.

It's too obviously a stationary hammer just placed on the thumb. Decent composition otherwise though

Next time, blur the hammer vertically a little so it looks to be in motion.

Ouch! The ap is perfect But I find myself wondering why you were hammering nails into a plank of wood in the middle of your garden lol. Perhaps on a work surface in the garage or workshop instead? =)

Great job, nice clear shot. I think what I like the most is how simple you kept it, the grass it a perfect backdrop. A great OOPS ...9

I think that this shot would have been better if it looked like the hammer was moving. As it is, it looks like you've just set the hammer on your thumb.

interesting composition. can't help feel a horizontal crop would have been stronger. the vertical is a bit awkward. good tones though.

Your lighing might be a little better, especially on the hammer. It gets lost against the grass since you chose to do this in black and white. Nice sharp image though.

effect may have been better with blood on the thumb

Focusing is really good in this shot. Great depth of field. Closeup is really nice.

good idea for the theme, but your execution doesn't appear to be anything more than the hammer resting on the thumb. I don't get a sense of you missing the nail and striking the thumb.

This seems a little dark. The fact that it's in the grass throws me a little bit, because it's real hard to nail anything on the grass. A different setting (work bench or something) would have added a lot i think.
