Taken October 1st

I have seen these Sulfur Butterflies around but this is the first time I was able to photograph one. I find they don't sit still for long like other butterflies and are easily scared away when you try to get close. This was taken on a walking trail. The butterfly is on red clover, a wildflower/weed.

Very nice! I know how hard it is to get a decent shot of one of these guys. They are very flighty butterflies ;-)

Really nice detail on the butterfly. We have those clover - or something very similar - here, too.

This is delightful, Karen - and you are right about these guys. They flit around like crazy. You have excellent detail here and very nice light. He's pretty with the clover, too.

Beautifuuly colored butterfly. I love the yellow and pink. I think the edges of the bug's wings are a little bright as the color seems to fade away. I love the detail of his fuzzy little head!

Wonderful yellow color! Never seen such species, my guess it's a North American specific one.

These butterflies always seem to be glowing with their own light, this one really shines. Love that little hairy face. Good work, catching it.
