Looking for some input on this image. I shot several boats as they sailed in and out of the frame. I like this one because in addition to a nice placement of the boat, there was also an airplane in the middle. Thus there were runners along the shore, the boat and the airplane.

Was the airplane even noticable at a quick voting glance? Was it too much going on?

This is a pretty decent score for me on a free study so I am not disappointed or anything, but curious if the airplane added or detracted to the shot.

Thanks

I'm guilty of speed voting. I didn't consciously notice the plane. I did give it a good vote, however.

No-
It is too small in the frame and it is partially obscured by the edge of the building which makes it hard to identify. As such, it does not add a lot to the composition.

Though the folks that took the time to identify it might be impressed and score the image slightly higher, it is more likely that most folks would probably think it a distraction because they could not immediately identify it and score slightly lower.

it took me a few to find it.

I love the clarity of the buildings etc, the plane and the runners were nearly invisible.

Hi bob, nice shot I left you a rambling comment.

I didn't vote, but even when looking at the image linked from this thread, I had difficulty finding the airplane :)

I liked the shot. I liked the color and composition, the lines and reflection on the buildings. The plane didn't add anything for me and was just one of those weird things in the shot. Thus, I found it odd that the title would emphasize the tiny plane in the background.

I gave it a 6 during voting.

I didn't vote, but I think the plane adds a bit. It's a very nice photo either way, but the plane, to me, makes it a timely capture.
