I want to make an n with a ~ on top of it. "Enyey" is how its pronounced, but I obviously can't write it here because I don't know how!!!

I want to do it in Photoshop.

Thanks!

In Windows there is the character map feature that lets you cut and paste characters from different fonts as well as see the keystroke combination to make it.

ALT-0241 creates the lowercase version: ñ

If you're on Mac, I'm sure the keystroke works, maybe with the option button?

I believe photoshop supports this. Hold down ALT and type 164. It should give you this ñ

I don't know about a Mac, but on a PC, you have to set up an additional keyboard in the language settings first. To do this, follow Start->Control Panel->Date, Time, Language, etc->Add Other Languages->Details->In the Installed Services, Add another language->Select your Language (Spanish)->for the keyboard, use US International.

After clicking OK, a small box in the lower right of the taskbar will be the letters EN for english. Click on it to change to your other language. Then hit shift + the key in the upper left of the keyboard with "`" and "~". Directly afterwards, hit the "n" key. Then you will end up with ñ. Then just remember to change the keyboard back to English so the keyboard layout is normal again.

usually woks with: ALT + 164 for lower case and ALT + 165 for caps, but that works with the older word versions, with the new one, you do it with insert symbols, and you click on the general punctuation tab

For info on unicode input (any character) in various OS's and programs, see wikipedia's articles on unicode input and list of unicode characters, though it doesn't appear to be a complete list.

Let's see if Langdon's database is compliant:

Pencil: ✎
Star: ✩
Heart: ❤

Also note that the viewer's browser and font must support the characters, or else they'll show up as little square blocks with the 4-digit code in them.

There is an easy way to write this character, and other similar combinations: If you can find the ~ character (I believe it is called "tilde") on your keyboard, simply type it once, then type the letter you want to place under it, in your case n. You may have to press and hold "Alt Gr" (if the symbol is located in the lower right corner of the keyboard key) or "Shift" (if the symbol is placed in the top left corner of the key) while you press the symbol key, but release these keys before you press the letter key.
This works for many combinations like ñ, Ñ, ã, Ã, õ, Õ, ä, Ä, ë, Ë, ï, Ï, ü, Ü, ÿ, ö, Ö, â, Â, ê, Ê, î, Î, û, Û, ô, Ô.

Option "n", then n = ñ.

ETA: I had to use some wicked codes to get the fonts mirrored.

I was gonna post upside down text but it doesn't work in this forum.
It'll turn your facebook status update upside down though if you want to have some fun with it.
