I'm looking to buy a new camera and I would like to know if anyone knows the advantage between the Sony Dsc-f707 and the dsc f717. Another question... is it worth financing a camera or should I just wait until I save up the 700 and pay for it all at the same time? Any way, anything will help. Thanks a lot

I have the 707 and my two cents on that is that the 717 got a lot of feature that is worth the change. But more important then feature are the ergonomic. The 707 is akward to use, not convinient at all. The 717 corect most of the ergonomic problem. I would change in a heartbeat if i had the money.

I suggest getting the 717 and perhaps used to save the money, there are a few people here who have them for sale and you will get lots of extras thrown in.

I would never finance a digital camera, they go obsolete so fast you would likely find yourself still making payments on a camera that you no longer want. If you save your money and wait the prices will just be going down and newer cameras will be coming on the market for the same price.

At the rate i get money and use it, I think if I get the f717, I'll be having it for a lot longer than just the time I'll be paying it off. If you know anyone specifically who is selling it from dpc, It would be great to know

The problem is that if I wait to save the money, by the time I have all of it the camera will not only be cheaper, but it will probably be something like december. If I finance it now, not only will I not have to be prepared with all the money, but I will have the camera right away. because if I don't finance it and I save up, It probably will become obsolete, but I won't be getting a new camera for a while.

Why buy it for $700. I know people on DPC are willing to sell their "old" f717's. I just bought one from fstopopen for under 500. I know TerryGee was offering his for about the same.

oh. Thanks. I emailed her to see if she was still selling it and for how much longer she'll be selling it. Thanks
