Has anyone used these? MCS Format Frame

I need to display some prints in a friends gallery space next month and wondered how well these work.

I'd like to have some free (float) space around the print on the 8x10's (use the 11x14), but I'm not sure how snug these are and if the print would stay in place or slide down inside? The 16x20's will have to go edge-to-edge.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions.

Yes, I've used the 8x10 and 8.5x11 versions of this. I found them to be a very nice solution for a quick/easy/inexpensive frame. I've also found the same frames in a local drugstore. They are not what you would consider "gallery" frames but for an informal show they would be fine.

The frame is black plastic. There is a thin edge that holds the glass in place. You can push the edge back to free the glass and get access to the inside. The image you see in the B&H illustration is on a thin piece of paper. You remove that and insert your photo. The fit is snug; I don't think there is room for a matted photo. When I want a border around the image, I print the image at a size smaller than the paper and then put the whole sheet in the frame. If you don't want to do that, you could attach the photo to a sheet of paper with double-sided tape and put that in the frame. The pressure of the frame is enough to hold the photo in place but you will never get it positioned correctly without something to hold it in place as you put the frame back together.

Thanks Dan - That's exactly what I needed to know. Appreciate the help.

Thanks. Actually, they're priced the same at B&H. The one at Amazon ships from Adorama, who I adamantly refuse to give my business to anymore. Overall the reviews at B&H and at Amazon seem to be favorable on this product.

can you let me know how they are? I have a big show in may and need some frames, but don't really want to spend $40 on every frame if the pics won't sell.

Specifically, can you let me know if they're thick enough to use with a mat border too?

I was concerned to read your posting; I can't ID you from your screen name, but if you would like to email me directly with further details of what went wrong and your order number, I will gladly investigate - and do whatever I can to put things straight.
