Hi,

I don't know if I'm doing this correctly or no! but here is my issue;

I want to take a photo in a RAW format. I changed the format till it appeared in the screen as "RAW". when I shoot a photo and download it to my MAC, it appears as a JPG file!

My camera is Nikon D90.

Any one can help in this please ?

Thanks,

Are you getting a Raw and JPG or just JPG file only, there is a setting where you get both a raw file and a smaller JPG.

what program are you importing the photos into?

Are you sure you hit OK after NEF (raw) was highlighted? That should be all you need to do.

Good question

Check the card, if the files on the card are not raw then it is a camera setting, if card has raw files software is likely converting file.

Gents, I think I found what was the problem after a month of searching and trying. It was a technical problem.

Here is the solution;

I'm using iPhoto on Macbook Pro. When I import the pictures, and want to edit them, I just highlight it and copy it and then paste it to another folder. This will convert the format to JPG. If you want to see the RAW file, you should right click on the picture and then choose "Show File" this will take you to the original file.

It works good now :)

Thanks everyone,
