What about doing a challenge relating to books? Reading yourself, being read to, books in strange places... whatever. |

Yeah, I'm really a librarian. I suppose I should come up with an idea relating to something other than books. But, I just see so many great moments in life that involve sharing stories. It's a reality that most people enjoy, just don't necessarily think of. |

You will -- meantime, nothing wrong with this suggestion. :-)
Librarians can do some amazing stuff. A couple of years ago I wanted my (then) 11 year-old son Isaac to read a couple of books I'd read at about the same age (those Scolastic books you ordered through the school), but I couldn't remember the titles.
I called my local branch library and gave the librarian a one-paragraph synopsis of each book. When I called back later that day, she'd emailed my summary out to fifty or so collegues, had (correctly) identified both titles, and I was able to get them sent to my branch from the building where they were shelved, for pickup within the next day or two. :-) |

I like the idea of a more general book challenge.
There have been some book-related challenges:
Book Titles
Book Titles II
Book Smarts

Great story. I'm always amazed with the stuff I hear everyday about how libraries were there in special moments in people's lives. I'm very lucky to find myself in such a place everyday. |

Thanks for showing these. It's good to see! I'm still figuring out the DPC site and didn't yet know how to search. Everyone's so nice (and talented) around here. |
