I am having a hard time understanding what is in bounds for this challenge...is it a photo where no human is in the picture? can the photo be a setup? is this supposed to be take pictures of nature? i'm confused...any thoughts?

I'd be careful with set up shots, since the descriptions says "NO human intervention. I interpret it to mean that not only are no humans IN the picture, nothing in the picture should be relatable to or made by humans.

My camera club has a nature group and "no hand of man" is the very definition of what pictures they take. So I take it this is a nature competition. Our club has strict rules. For instance, taking sunflowers in a field...if the sunflowers are being cultivated, then humans are involved. An animal in a zoo is also a no-no, as well as a shot in your bakyard, etc. Obviously it is possible to take zoo pictures that look like their taken in the wild... but this is what defines the nature group's work in my club.

I read it the same way, no evidence that man touched it, created it, changed it, or set it up.

I would say the prompt for this challenge is very strict, i wouldn't try stretching it.

I was thinking of some things that would possible sneak through that someone might not notice.

Field photos: Watch for powerlines.
Sky photos: Careful no airplane smoke, or airplanes.
Lake photos: Docks
River photos: dams or bridges
Tree photos: signs or birdhouses
Landscape shots: stray lighting, tall buildings, powerlines, or even smoke from factories.
ANY shot: TRASH, be careful to check for trash, plastic bags, bottles, etc.

To be picky also, you might not want to use your flash or artificial looking lighting. Night shots might want to be avoided. Unless of course it's of the moon, and careful you don't get any sattelites in there. :)

These aren't rules, but rather suggestions to try to avoid, cause we all know about the picky "does not meet challenge" people.

REMINDER!!! Not meeting the challenge is NOT grounds to request DQ.
