i started traveling full time about a year ago, and during my travels i've really started to enjoy travel portraiture.

when i'm moving from place to place, i find myself more interested in the people than the 'touristy' sights.

i've started a site for my travel portraits. so far there are a lot, but later i'll cut it down to the best photos only.

//ph.otograph.me

i know they're not all stunners, but there are a few shots i really like.

as a result of this change in my photography, i've really started to pay closer attention to the portraits of people like steve mccurry. i also bought myself an 85mm lens, which virtually lives on my camera now.

is anyone else into portraiture?

cheers

Very cool. I'm starting to be the same way. Last summer I was in Japan and in Osaka there is a great area to people watch and try to take pictures of the young people and how they dress up.

some nice shots mate. at the moment i don't have the facilities to do a lot of processing ... so my portraits are mostly simple edits. i like some of the post- work you've done on yours.

that site of mine is going to have well over a thousand portraits by the time i'm done. i'll delete the worst ones, but the overall spread will still be a huge amount.

i'm thinking, when i finish traveling, to try and arrange a portrait exhibition ... could be fun!
