Hi Everyone, I need to take photos of ceramic tiles which are in deferent colors, sizes and glossiness with a Panasonic compact camera and I don't have advanced studio lights
Any advice or tips on light or photography technique would be very appropriated also if anyone know an article about ceramic tiles photography or the proper studio light, Please post it's link.
Thanks

The only thing i can think of is to maybe try and roll the camera up in to a cigar shape and then try to smoke it? Maybe.
Not sure how useful this will be with a compact camera though.

Hope this helps.

tripod, available light, and the appropriate manual settings at the lowest possible ISO and you should be fine. if you can, set a custom white balance.

Ditto what Skip said, and, if you have trouble with the glossy ones, try throwing a white sheet with a hole for the viewfinder, over the whole thing to make a light tent.

The tiles have perfect 90-degree angles - and you don't want to ruin that with the distortion typical for cheap wide-angle lenses. Better use the tele-end of that camera to reduce distortion!

Using the shortest self timer shutter delay will help with sharpness.
