Happy Solstice everyone!!! I was really hoping that lingering snow and ice would force them to close work so I could properly celebrate, but no such luck. Anyway, folks in the northern hemisphere can now look forward to more sunlight everyday, which means more time to go out and shoot after work.

seriously, this is my primary reason for celebrating this time of year, as it was for lots of ancient peoples. sure, spring is still pretty far away, but more sunlight is a step in the right direction :)

Happy Solstice and Merry Yule to all. I love this time of year, when the days begin to get longer and we can see spring right around the corner.

I love the solstice light. It can be so rare & fleeting, it makes it so much more special. I'd like to share Diane Varner's Winter Solstice slideshow here.

Warm Winter Wishes to all!

Now, every day has more and more light to take photos
