"The holiday's celebration, as shown on "Seinfeld", includes an aluminum "Festivus pole", practices such as the "Airing of Grievances" and the "Feats of Strength", and the labeling of easily explainable events as 'Festivus miracles'" -Wikipedia

In our family we have a New Year's Festivus tradition. All the men of the family stand up and formally apologize to all the women of the family. Imagine a room filled with 20-30 folks ... somber ... serious. We say, "everything bad, untoward, unfortunate that occurs in the coming year is our fault. We are deeply sorry. And to the best of our ability, it will never happen again.

Liberating!

Try it yourself.

Then when you inadvertently do something wrong ... you can say ... "I've already admitted guilt and apologized. Let's move on."

As I said, liberating!

Shouldn't that statement start with "As you already know, ..."?

Yes, of course, how negligent of me to forget this key phrase!

The Festivus episode aired tonight in my neck of the woods. I had never seen it all the way through - only in the clips shows. I had a good chuckle.
